We are firmly opposed to so-called shill bidding: placing bids on one’s own lots, or having others do so, with the intention of artificially inflating prices on Catawiki auctions. We consider this an unfair and unacceptable trading practice. Should we receive signals or determine that such behavior is taking place, we will take immediate and decisive action.

We guarantee our buyers a fair market price, established without any interference in the bidding process. No manipulation by consignors or third parties is permitted.

Vandenberg Fine Art BV is the sole owner of all artworks offered in our auctions. We do not work on consignment and do not sell works on behalf of other sellers. The vast majority of our collection is offered without reserve prices, with only occasional exceptions.

Each painting is carefully packaged using high-quality, professional shipping materials, and we select the most suitable carrier based on destination, transit time, and handling requirements. We track every parcel closely until delivery is completed.

Because no two artworks are the same, we often create custom, hand-made shipping containers or boxes tailored to the painting’s size, frame, and fragility, as well as the distance and conditions of transport to your address. This ensures the best possible protection throughout the journey.

To support a smooth international shipping process, we prepare the correct paperwork and shipping documentation, including customs codes and export-related information when required.

In some cases, we will proactively contact you to confirm that your parcel has arrived safely, that the painting is in good condition, and to answer any questions you may have.
